Paganini's 6 Sonatas op. 3 for violin and guitar from 1805 are preserved in an autograph violin and guitar part. The first edition was published by Ricordi in Milan in 1820. Manuel Barrueco has edited the two sonatas in A major (op.3 / 1) and e minor (op.3 / 6) so that the not too difficult violin part is integrated into the guitar part. “It was my intention to use these transcriptions to create two Paganini guitar pieces that reveal all the charm and technical sophistication of his music.
