In 1979 Manuel Barrueco first recorded five of Enrique Granados' 12 Spanish Dances op.37 and two years later published four of the transcriptions as sheet music: No. 1, Minueto; No. 3, Zarabanda; No. 4, Villanesca; and No. 12, Arabesca. These four dances appear almost the same in this new edition as in the 1981 release, with the exception of some corrections and minor changes. No. 5, Andaluza (Playera) has now been added. However, this transcription is a completely revised version of the 1979 transcription. Also new in this edition is an alternative version of the middle section of No. 12, Arabesca, a version that Manuel Barrueco has enjoyed playing in concerts in recent years. "This alternate version is more playable and further makes use of expressive devices that are unique to the guitar, an instrument which is at the very soul of the music from Spain." - Contents: No. 1, Minueto, No. 3, Zarabanda, No. 4, Villanesca, No. 5, Andaluza (Playera), No. 12, Arabesca
