The third volume in the series "Complete Lute Works" contains 23 song-like works - pieces that exist as song compositions and solo works by Dowland and pieces that are based on song melodies but were only written by Dowland as solo works - works that, because of their structure and songfulness, could be based on the singing voice, i.e. only hypothetically reveal a connection.
