A collection of transcribed works by Béla Bartók (1881-1945), arranged for a guitar duo. These are selected compositions (originally for piano) from volumes 3-6 of the microcosm. Although these pieces were made in the first half of the 20th century. emerged, their modernity is still unique and unbroken even today. With the transcriptions made by Felix Komoll, the guitarists now have a special opportunity to play Bartók's compositions and study them in detail. Harmony and melody live from an overcoming of dissonance in the classical sense and so they are directly related to jazz, think of the music of Thelonius Monk or George Gershwin. Seen in this way, the game becomes a musical journey of discovery, a source of inspiration and a think tank for improvisation. In addition to harmony, rhythm must be emphasized as another important component. Here Bartók uses the odd time signature 5/8, 7/8 and 9/8, which is common in Romanian-Bulgarian music.
