The Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz (1860–1909) wrote his Suite Española in 1886. It`s a Hommage to regions and towns of hies homeland Spain. This issue is edited and fingerd by Manuel Barrueco
In 1981 Manuel Barrueco published a transcription of the Suite Española by Isaac Albéniz, which he had recorded in 1979. It contained the original four movements of the first published version of the suite: Granada, Cataluña, Seville and Cuba as well as Cadiz. In 1992, Manuel Barrueco recorded it once again, this time including all eight movements of the expanded 1912 publication of the suite. He had never released the 1992 version, mainly because he was not entirely happy with his transcriptions from Castilla and Aragón. He felt they were difficult to the point of being practically unplayable and did not flow well from the guitar. He knew then that he would want to revise them at a later date to try to make them more guitaristic. Now, more than 25 years later, it is finally done! Guitarists familiar with Manuel Barrueco`s 1992 EMI recording will notice some significant differences between this Castilla and Aragon recording and this release. They will also notice some significant changes to Asturias, but the original five movements from the first release remain almost exactly the same with a few minor exceptions. - Content: I. Granada (Serenata), II. Cataluña (Curranda), III. Sevilla (Sevillanas), IV. Cádiz (Canción), V. Asturias (Leyenda), VI. Aragón (Fantasía), VII. Castilla (Seguidillas), VIII. Cuba (Capricho)
